Support Northshore Riverwatch

Northshore Riverwatch provides the information. Informed communities save rivers.

We do the work you don’t have time or resources for—reviewing permits, analyzing records, and submitting comments—so residents have the facts and tools to protect the Tangipahoa River. Your donation helps turn complex government data into actionable insights for the community.

Northshore Riverwatch is a volunteer-powered nonprofit working to defend clean water, hold polluters accountable, and protect the natural heritage of the Florida Parishes. From the Smitty’s explosion to Scenic River protections to floodplain advocacy — we show up because our community deserves better.

We don’t have corporate sponsors.
We don’t have political ties.
We rely on you.

Why Your Donation Matters

Protecting Our Rivers

We do the work most people can’t: monitoring pollution, reviewing permits, documenting violations, and defending Louisiana’s Scenic Rivers from rollbacks and misinformation. Your support funds hours of research and investigative work—like our Smitty’s LDEQ files—turning complex government records into tools communities can use to defend their rivers.

Responding to Environmental Emergencies

When disasters strike—sewerage spills spills, chemical releases, flood events—we mobilize with sampling, documentation, public education, and pressure on agencies for transparency. We do the work so residents can focus on taking action to protect their families and communities.

Science, Data, & Accountability

Your support funds mapping, fieldwork, and public records access. We do the research and analysis so communities have data-based insights to make informed decisions and hold polluters accountable. while protecting future community resiliency

Community Advocacy

We work one-on-one with residents impacted by pollution, drainage failures, and industrial expansion. We hold community meetings and distribute materials to keep residents informed of river issues. Northshore Riverwatch cannot save the rivers alone—it takes an informed and active community.

Every Dollar Makes a Difference

Help us grow into the full-time organization the Northshore rivers need. Informed communities save rivers—and healthy rivers sustain entire communities.

Your Donation supports - gas, travel, PPE, field gear, website costs, and social media, field investigations, sample equipment, presentations, community meetings, and challenging bad permits.

Northshore Riverwatch is entirely powered by people who care about the health and future of our rivers and communities. We do the work you don’t have time for—your contribution directly fuels this work.

Thank you for standing with us — for clean water, safe communities, and a stronger Northshore.

How You Can Help

As we grow, we will continue to add new volunteer opportunities across advocacy, outreach, science, and community support. Volunteers may also be connected with partner environmental organizations and local nonprofits that need extra hands on shared issues.
