Somebody has to keep watch.
Most people don't have the time or experience to follow every river permit application, development proposal, regulatory action, and public process that can affect their rivers, flood risk, and communities.
For three years, Northshore Riverwatch has done that work for you — reviewing and commenting on permits, reporting pollution, defending Scenic Rivers, conserving riparian lands and floodplains, and helping communities understand and participate in the decisions that shape their future.
Developers and other well-funded interests can bring attorneys, engineers, consultants, and years of institutional knowledge to the table. Communities rarely have those resources.
Northshore Riverwatch has built and maintains an understanding of the science, regulations, public processes, rivers, and floodplains of our region — putting that knowledge directly into citizens' hands so they can participate effectively and influence their future.
